Beyonce Talks Being Humbled By Mother, Blue Ivy Being Priority
Beyonce Knowles, the 31-year-old singer and mother to Blue Ivy Carter, recently revealed how important her relationship with her own daughter is and how her mother Tina Knowles humbles her.
"Girl, you're not a queen," Tina tells her daughter, according to the Scandinavian publication Z Lifestyle Magazine.
Beyonce recently served as the covergirl for the publication and spoke about her own role as a mother, calling it her top priority.
"I'm a very protective person. I want to make sure that my daughter has a healthy, safe, normal life…she's my top priority," Beyonce told Z Lifestyle magazine. "Life's completely different now. I'm still incredibly happy to be able to do what I love, but now, everything has more meaning. Life's about being a mother."
This is not the first time Beyonce has opened up about her role as a mother. Earlier this year, the singer spoke about encouraging her one-year-old daughter.
"I'm telling my daughter every day, you know you can be president, you know it's possible," she said in a "Chime For Change" video. "I know she has no idea why I'm saying that, but at one year old, I'm like, you know you can be president."
The singer has also been vocal about the lessons she is teaching her daughter and said the most important one will be about outward appearance.
"My biggest thing is to teach [Blue] not to focus on the aesthetic," Beyonce previously told People magazine, the publication that named her the most beautiful woman in the world last year. "It's really about who you are, and the human being, that makes you beautiful."
