Beyoncé's 60-Pound Weight Loss Attributed to Lettuce, Criticized By Fans

Beyonce Knowles has received widespread criticism after claiming that she was forced to lose up to 60 pounds after giving birth to her first child in January with a growing number of fans questioning just how accurate her claims are.

The singer made the statement during her second show at Revel Beach Ovation Hall in Atlantic City during Memorial weekend which has prompted backlash.

"Y'all have no idea how hard I worked. I had to lose 60 pounds. They had me on that treadmill. I ate lettuce!" Beyonce told her audience.

"Now tonight I'm gonna get chocolate wasted!" she added.

The 30-year-old flaunted her figure on stage while wearing revealing and custom-made Ralph and Russo costumes, according to Radar Online.

Some critics have begun questioning whether Beyonce really lost 60 pounds with many suggesting that she has exaggerated her weight loss.

Old photos showing the singer heavily pregnant shortly before giving birth to baby Blue Ivy do not reflect substantial weight gain, and fans recently took to social networking site Twitter to weigh in.

"Did Beyonce really claim at her concert that she gained 60 pounds during her pregnancy? LOLOL have a seat girl," Melissa tweeted.

"@Beyonce looses 60 pounds..k u were never pregnant #fraud #illuminati @SabrinaManina," Steffgeo tweeted.

"I'm sticking to my original story.. she was never pregnant!!!!~amy " Radio station Energy 1035 Halifax tweeted.

Her alleged weight loss has reignited surrogate rumors despite both Beyonce and her mother recently slamming the rumors.

"Oh my gosh, so stupid! I thought it was very unfair and very cruel that someone would think that someone would be that diabolical to keep up a charade like that for nine months," Tina Knowles told People.com.

"As a mother it was painful for me to hear the crazy rumors. And I even had people ask me, which was so ridiculous!" she added.

Beyonce dismissed the rumors as "crazy," and insists that she gave birth to Blue Ivy naturally.
