'Big Hero 7' News: Will 'Big Hero 6' Have a Sequel?"
The upcoming sequel for the hit animated movie "Big Hero 6" is expected to bring a surprise.
It was revealed that "Big Hero 7" will be presenting a conflict between Tadashi Hamada and Hiro. This is shocking to fans, since the previous film showed that Tadashi had died during a fire.
With that, the upcoming series is expected to explain just how the character managed to survive the incident during the science expo. A hint of his survival was shown during the previous film when Beymax had replied that Tadashi was still nearby.
There are speculations that Tadashi will return with his own superpowers. He will be going by the name of Sunfire, who is able to shoot fire. He can also convert any heat into plasma. It can be presumed that this is due to the fact that he had died during a fire. However, the twist is that there is a possibility that Tadashi could be playing a villain in the upcoming movie.
However, Don Williams, director of "Big Hero 6," recently shared some details that denied the idea of the upcoming sequel during an interview with Creative Screenwriting. He stated, "These are characters that we've grown to know very well, now it's time to let go of them, and they're going into the world without us. We're in the middle of that phase. So we haven't talked about or thought about any sequels or anything like that. Having said that, of course, we love these characters and the thought of working with them again someday definitely has its appeal."
He also added that the movie's executive producer, John Lassater, will not push the team into a sequel unless there is a message that they are very eager to share. He added, "It has to feel like a story that really has to be told, or deserves to be told. It can't just be cashing in on the success of a previous film."
With that, no release date has been revealed for "Big Hero 7."
