'Biggest Loser' Winner Refutes Being Too Zealous With Weight Loss, Former Trainers Distance Themselves

"Biggest Loser" winner Rachel Frederickson has come under a great deal of scrutiny for losing 60 percent of her body weight and appearing extremely thin during the finale. During a press call, Frederickson explained her routine post-"Loser" and refuted any claims that she was malnourished or suffering from an eating disorder.

"I think that with my journey, I truly found the person I want to be, so it's about the lifestyle for me," Frederickson said during the call with reporters, according to Reality TV World. "I never felt this great and I know I'm going to feel even better because this life is just so open to me and I can't wait to take charge because that's what I gained back. It's confidence … it's assuredness of myself to just take charge and conquer this life."

When asked about her dramatic weight loss and rumors of an eating disorder or an unhealthy weight, Frederickson replied, "Um, I have had support systems in place the entire time I was on 'The Biggest Loser.' We are given a calorie budget and I stuck to that. I've done lots of working out and the finale was very enthusiastic."

During the finale, fans watched as Frederickson revealed her new body and 155-pound weight loss. Trainers Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper were noticeably shocked at the revelation, and Michaels could be seen mouthing "oh my God" several times during the course of the evening. Since then, she and Harper have issued a joint statement about Frederickson's weight loss and time on "Loser."

"Bob and I want to take a moment to congratulate all of the BL contestants on their hard work," Michaels and Harper tweeted. "We're not comfortable commenting on Rachel's journey because [we] weren't her trainers and weren't given an opportunity to work with her at any point. Any questions about the contestants on the Biggest Loser should be directed to the show's producers."
