Bill O'Reilly's Book on Jesus as a 'Revolutionary'
Fox News personality Bill O'Reilly, author of "Killing Lincoln" and "Killing Kennedy" has announced that he will debut a new book in September titled "Killing Jesus."
The title will be co-written by Martin Dugard, who has also helped to write his other "Killing" novels. The description of the book refers to Jesus of Nazareth as a "young revolutionary" who forever changed history.
"Nearly two thousand years after this beloved and controversial young revolutionary was brutally killed by Roman soldiers, more than 2.2 billion human beings attempt to follow his teachings and believe he is God," the authors website details of the novel. "Killing Jesus will take readers inside Jesus's life, recounting the seismic political and historical events that made his death inevitable- and changed the world forever."
Published by Henry Holt, a division of McMillan, the book is slated for a Sept. 24 release date. In the past O'Reilly, has claimed to have no political affiliations and instead insisted that his opinion is shaped only by the truth.
"See, I don't want to fit any of those labels, because I believe that the truth doesn't have labels. When I see corruption, I try to expose it. When I see exploitation, I try to fight it. That's my political position," he wrote in his previous novel "The O'Reilly Factor."
Reception for O'Reilly's coming novel was met with critical review.
"I will pay whatever money possible for this not to happen: Bill O'Reilly: 'Killing Jesus' To Be Next Book," Twitter user Rob Lee stated.
"I can't wait to not read Bill O'Reilly's upcoming book on the assassination of Jesus," Steve SIlberman added.
"That just sounds like a train wreck waiting to happen," Jenna Bilbrey said in response.
O'Reilly's "Killing Lincoln" became a best selling novel on Amazon and New York Times' e-books. Some, however, said the novel contained several "factual flaws."
