Bishop Noel Jones Reveals Heart Health Issues, Worsened By 'Preachers of L.A.'?
Bishop Noel Jones, the senior pastor of the City of Refuge Church in Gardena, Calif., recently revealed that he has health issues that may be getting worse because of his participation in the Oxygen docu-series "Preachers of L.A."
Jones, 63, told Kevin Frazier of OMG! Insider about his heart issues.
"I'm not feeling good," Jones told Frazier recently. "I had an ablation because of an atrial flutter. My heart wants to add beats."
He revealed that his doctors have advised him to slow down and that being on "Preachers of L.A.," could be affecting his health.
"They want me to be in the bed," Jones told Frazier.
Jones previously explained why he decided to take part in the show.
"My original intention was not for this to be an evangelical tool, very certainly not," Jones previously said on Impact Network's "Lift Your Voice." "My original intention was (for) it to be a tool to help bring the minds of Christian people to the place where they give some balance to who their pastors are and how they deal with their pastors."
The Preachers of L.A. cast stopped by The Arsenio Hall late night talk show on Halloween where Bishop Jones put an end to the speculation about him being upset with friends criticizing his appearance on the show.
"As the questions that have been asked about my friends making comments, as it related to our being on the reality show and I simply said, I didn't get on the reality show to make enemies out of my friends," Jones said. "…I think that each person is entitled to their opinion and each person has to operate in their space according to the conceptualization they have, as it relates to other people…and I am not going to play ping pong with the opinions of my friends…"
Jones appears on the docu-series alongside minister and gospel singer Deitrick Haddon, Bishop Clarence McClendon of Full Harvest International Church, Pastor Wayne Chaney of Antioch Church of Long Beach, Bishop Ron M. Gibson of Life Church of God In Christ and Pastor Jay Haizlip of The Sanctuary Church. The show appears on Oxygen Network Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET.
