This year’s event promises to be the biggest one ever, with over 150 million people, expected to flock to retail stores for the Black Friday deals, according to Headline News. The financial crisis that is still gripping the nation has led to millions feeling the strain on their bank accounts, and people are hoping to take as much advantage as they can from the drop-dead prices on all kinds of merchandise.

One way consumers will be able to track and compare various deals across stores like Walmart, Best Buy, Macy’s, Toys R Us, and Amazon is through their smartphones – with apps designed specifically for Black Friday, according to Time Magazine.

ShopSavvy is a free app for Android, iPhone and Windows Phone that will allow customers to scan in a product through its barcode and compare prices offered on the same item at other retailers. It might come in handy for those refusing to get anything but the best deal on the item they are looking for.

TGI Friday and Slick Deals dive directly into the various deals and promotions out there, and allow people to browse items by category and check out which stores are offering what they are looking for. Both apps are free, with Slick Deals costing a single dollar for iPhone. Consumers still have plenty of time to try out both before the big day arrives and choose which one works best for them.

With HDTV deals now better than ever, customers will want to stay up-to-date on where they can find the latest electronics from Samsung, Toshiba and other top companies that will guarantee them both quality and a good price.
