Black Friday 2011: Sears Releases Pre-Black Friday Sales Ads

In the midst of sale ads being leaked left and right for the highly-anticipated after-Thanksgiving Day sales, Sears recently released its annual pre-Black Friday Friends and Family Advertisement Listing, a 321-item list that reportedly boasts better sales than those offered by other retailers on Black Friday.

The pre-Black Friday weekend of marked down items, also known as Sears' Friends and Family Sale, will take place in stores on Sunday, Nov. 13 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will be available online from Saturday, Nov. 12 at 8 p.m. through 4 a.m. Monday.

The popular retailer is offering an extra 25 percent off Lands' End clothing and footwear, 20 percent off clothing for the family, intimate apparel and accessories, 10 to 15 percent off items such as footwear, fine jewelry, housewares, cosmetics, sporting goods and appliances, among other things, and five percent off electronics.

Shoppers looking to avoid having to wake up before sunrise to get some of the best deals of the season may want to take advantage of the opportunistic sales before the true frenzy of Black Friday begins.

"Some say the prices at the Sears Friends and Family sale are even better than Black Friday, but I believe it varies by what you are looking for," said one shopper. "Regardless, there are some good deals to be had AND you don’t have to get up before dawn. Because I love to shop from home, the best deal of all (in my opinion, of course) is that they often offer some aspects of this sale online as well."

Many other popular retailers have already released some of their Black Friday sales ads and are continuing to do so as the holiday approaches. Stores such as Macy’s, Target and Toys R’Us have revealed they will open their doors at midnight to accommodate consumer demand and get ahead of competition. Kohl’s just announced today that it will be open for 24 hours starting at midnight on Black Friday.
