Black Friday 2011: Walmart Releases Black Friday Ad With Hundreds of Sales Deals
Black Friday shoppers will be excited to know that Walmart has officially released its highly-anticipated Black Friday ad. The shopping giant has posted the full 283-item advertisement listing along with 28-page advertisement scans.
Black Friday Ads notes that Walmart "will be starting their [sic] Black Friday sale on top toys, home and apparel on Thanksgiving at 10 p.m., while the electronics deals don't start until midnight of Black Friday."
Walmart has been very protective about early Black Friday deals in the past, but it looks as if Walmart is looking to get out in front of the competition and ramp up its pre-Black Friday efforts. A special Black Friday ad with special events listed were published on the retailer's website.
Lowe's and Staples have already released their Black Friday previews, but this is a rare occurrence for Walmart. Shoppers can now compare pre-Black Friday deals with Black Friday prices.
Walmart may have to walk a fine line with this release. If they reveal their top door-busters, it gives their competitors that much more time to react, but if Walmart reveals mediocre items, there is a chance shoppers will write off the retailer's ad early.
With arguably the biggest Black Friday ad now out, it should only be a short while before ads from other major retailers become available (either officially or unofficially).
Last year, Toys "R" Us and Best Buy leaked their ads on Thursday and Friday, respectively, of the second week of November. Plus, Lowe's and Staples have already released their Black Friday sales previews.
