Black Friday 2011: Walmart's 'Super Saturday' Kicks Off Shopping Deal Season

Walmart stores are set to open within hours for a massive discount sale called “Super Saturday;” a precursor to the famous Black Friday sales.

“Super Saturday” will commence at 11 a.m., Nov. 5. Walmart has already made its sale list available and consumers are expected to flock to the shop’s outlets across the country.

Black Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year for Americans, falls on Nov. 25 and is still a few weeks away. However, shoppers are being enticed to get started on massive sale deals in pre-Black Friday sales.

The retail giant has been using a number of strategies to hook consumer interest, including a Facebook campaign that will keep fans updated on special deals as Nov. 25 approaches.

Another big initiative Walmart has taken is the upcoming Super Saturday one-day shopping event, which will offer some special pre-Black Friday sale items and allow shoppers the opportunity to stock up and get a good portion of their holiday shopping done in advance.

Walmart is hoping thousands of shoppers will take advantage of the opportunity to avoid the stress and hassle of shopping on the busy Black Friday.

Walmart released a list of merchandise that will be available on Super Saturday that is split into two main sections – Electronics and Toys.
