'Black Sails' Season 4: Lives and Dreams at Stake in Series' Final Episode
After four seasons filled with adventures, surprising alliances and betrayals, Starz's pirate series "Black Sails" will be bidding its final farewell in the upcoming 10th episode of its fourth season. How will Flint (Toby Stephens) and Silver (Luke Arnold) fare through the final hour of the series?
The official synopsis states that Flint will be pushing one last time to bring England down, while Silver will be sealing his fate. On the other hand, Rackham (Toby Schmitz) will be confronting Rogers (Luke Roberts) while Nassau will be changed forever.
The series, which serves as a dark and more mature prequel to Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel, "Treasure Island," was created by Jonathan E. Steinberg and Robert Levine and executive produced by Steinberg himself along with Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form. The series premiere was first previewed on YouTube for free ahead of its official release one week later on Jan. 25, 2014. The series has since risen to critical acclaim with four seasons and 48 episodes including the upcoming series finale.
"Black Sails" featured the adventures and misadventures of Flint and Silver that began in Nassau and which could possibly end in death. The penultimate episode saw Rogers launching an attack on the pirates and the following episode will undoubtedly feature his men finishing the job.
The official trailer also shows the pirates desperately abandoning their ship after a fire breaks out, and unwillingly opening themselves up as easy targets on the water for the British soldiers. Many of them are expected to die, but Flint may just be spared only for his knowledge of the whereabouts of the Urca de Lima's remaining treasure.
However, Madi (Zethu Dlomo) may not fare so well when her life falls into the hands of Billy (Tom Hopper). Silver could survive, and so could Rackham, who may even be able to finally find the location of Skeleton Island.
The final episode of "Black Sails" airs this Sunday, April 2 at 9 p.m. EDT on Starz.
