In other news, Gosling conveyed his excitement of being part of the cast to SciFiNow. He said, "As an actor, to be a part of a project like this is unbelievable. It's unreal, but they are being very secret about the project."

Unfortunately, Gosling was not allowed to reveal details about the upcoming film during the interview. However, he did manage to hint that the second installment would be an extension of the original storyline.

Sequel's Storyline

Starring Harrison Ford as the main character Rick Deckard, the 1982 action-packed original film set on the year 2019 spoke about humans living amongst androids, also known as artificial intelligence or Replicants. The film's setting showcased how the world would look whence modern technology would dominate the world of the human race.

Set on a mission to eradicate androids due to a mutiny, Deckard found himself in a dilemma when he encountered Rachel, an android who seemed to have human emotion. Upon determination that androids were capable of human characteristics, Deckard then doubted the authenticity of his very existence.

'Blade Runner 2' Fan Theories

The storyline for the upcoming film will be several decades after the first film's time frame. Since the first installment's release, fans have speculated whether or not Deckard's character is a Replicant or a real human being .Some fans also based their findings on the book "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" by Philip K. Dick, the textual basis of the first movie. They contended that since Deckard showed doubts about his true being after meeting Rachel, he may still be human since it was how the character was depicted in the book.

Furthermore, it was also suggested that although Deckard shed his skin like the Androids did, it may not necessarily mean that he is a Replicant. The showing of a machine unicorn may only be a reflection of Deckard's imagination.

Despite the several fan theories, none of which have been confirmed. Will the questions be clarified come "Blade Runner 2?"

Catch "Blade Runner 2" release on theaters this October 6, 2017, starring Jared Leto, Ryan Gosling, and Harrison Ford.
