Blake Lively: I've Never Gone on A Date'

Blake Lively may play a "Gossip Girl," but in a new interview she reveals she's nothing like her alter ego.

Lively, 24, told Elle magazine that although she has been linked to several male celebrities, including Penn Badgley, Leonardo DiCaprio and Ryan Reynolds, she has never actually been on a date.

"I've never gone on a date. Maybe I'm too shy," she said.

She also told the magazine that she is looking for a man with confidence. "Confidence is sexy. When you see a man who's completely comfortable in his skin, it puts you at ease. You feel safe. You feel like you could trust him. You feel protected. You also feel like you can be yourself because nothing is going to rock him either way."

Lively added, "I've had four boyfriends in my whole life. If I spend time with a man, it's because they are somebody that I know well who has been a friend for a while."

In honor of Valentine's Day, Lively is working with author Nicholas Sparks on the Godiva Valentine's Day Giveaway. The contest, entitled The Sweetest Story Ever Told, encourages budding authors to tell their most romantic love story.

One lucky winner will receive on year's worth of Godiva chocolates, a set of autographed Nicholas Sparks novels, be named a character in an upcoming Sparks novel, and a meeting with Sparks to get writing tips.

In 2011, Time magazine named Lively to it's Time 100 list, saying "Every now and then, an actor or actress manages to somehow channel the vitality of youth-that indefinable, natural, unprocessed glamour full of possibility and filled with anticipation for an endless future."

The article then goes on to state that Lively is the essence of this youth, that she exudes the youthfulness needed in Hollywood.

Lively has portrayed wild child Serena van der Woodson on "Gossip Girl" for the past four years after appearing in movies "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants," "Accepted" and "Elvis and Anabelle."

She has signed on to star in Steven Soderbergh's "The Side Effects" with Channing Tatum and Jude Law.
