Blake Shelton Wants To Keep Girlfriend Gwen Stefani On 'The Voice'

Now that "The Voice" Season 10 has reached its conclusion, Blake Shelton is trying to get some assurance that his new girlfriend, fellow coach Gwen Stefani, will be back on the show.

Pop star Christina Aguilera is set to return to the reality singing competition for Season 11. She will be taking back her coach's chair from No Doubt singer Stefani, who subbed for her from 2014 to 2015.

On Monday, country crooner Shelton put "The Voice" host and executive producer Carson Daly in the hot seat by insisting that a fifth chair be added to the show so that Gwen Stefani could stay on next season.

Ahead of the live show, Daly attempted to evade the question as gently as he could, telling reporters, "We'll just address that we love Gwen, we love our coaches." He added: "We're like Iron Chef around here. Once you've been in the kitchen, you're always welcome back in the kitchen."

But Shelton needed a definite answer. "Anytime you want?" Shelton insisted, to which Daly answered, "Absolutely." This seemed to be the answer the singer was waiting for.

"I'll see you next season, Gwen," Shelton teased, laughing as fellow "The Voice" coach Adam Levine gave a "whoop."

39-year-old Shelton and 46-year-old Stefani began dating in October this year. Shelton and fellow country star Miranda Lambert, who were married for four years, divorced in July. Stefani and her husband, English musician Gavin Rossdale, ended their marriage of 13 years in August. Stefani has three children with Rossdale: Kingston, 9, Zuma, 7, and Apollo, 1. The singer/fashion designer's rep confirmed that she was dating her fellow "The Voice" coach after photos of the two looking cozy circulated online.

Earlier this month, reports came out that "The Voice" executives wanted to keep Stefani on the show, as her relationship with Shelton was boosting the show's ratings. "The executives already want to keep Gwen for next season and keep the cast as is," a source told Radar. "The way things are going right now, there is no reason to sub her out for Christina."
