'Blend S' Episode 2 Spoilers: Maika Starts New Life as Sadistic Character in Café Stile

What has for a long time been Maika Sakuranomiya's biggest burden has just turned into an asset as she begins working at Café Stile on the Japanese comedy anime series, "Blend S." Will she eventually learn to adapt to her new role for the sake of achieving her lifelong dream?

Maika is a high school student who dreams of studying abroad. And in order to do so, she would have to find a decent part-time job and start saving soon.

However, the naturally menacing look in her eyes has always kept her from getting hired. And just when all hope was about to be lost, she came by Café Stile and caught the store manager's attention with the very thing that has always kept other companies from hiring her.

Café Stile, as it turns out, is the kind of coffee shop wherein the workers take on specific characteristics like an adorable little sister, a hot and cold tsundere, and a cruel sadist while interacting with customers. It's a kind of atmosphere that can be likened to butler and maid cafés, except that the customers go there primarily for the food and the drink, and interacting with the servers and their fictional characters only come as an added bonus.

But despite the menacing look in her eyes, Maika does not have a sadistic bone in her body and has been seen struggling with her new job in the premiere episode. Will she be able to keep up with her role, eventually grow into it, and tell the café's customers off in a more natural way?

Café Stile also has a motley of other characters that Maika will be interacting with on a daily basis. What kind of friendships will these characters eventually form and how will this bond help them keep their café going despite any challenges that may come their way?

"Blend S" airs on Saturdays late night at 12:30 a.m. JST on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, and BS11. It also airs on AT-X on Mondays at 8 p.m. JST. Information on other broadcast schedules and online resources can be found on the series' official site. Episodes will also be simulcast in selected regions outside Japan via Crunchyroll.
