'Blindspot' Season 2 Episode 17: Team Weller Forced to Choose Between Jane and a Family's Life in 'Solos'
Secrets are always a deal breaker in any relationship, and in the next episode of "Blindspot," letting each other in on their secret lives may be Jane (Jaimie Alexander) and Oliver's (Jonathan Patrick Moore) only chance at survival.
At the end of last week's episode, just when briefly estranged lovers Jane and Oliver had finally made up, they were interrupted and subsequently tranquilized by a group of masked men, who will apparently take them captive in a dangerous game that will also put a seemingly innocent family's life at risk.
The official synopsis states that Jane and Oliver will find themselves together in a dangerous situation that will expose secrets that they have not yet had the time to discuss between themselves. Will these revelations serve to strengthen their bond, or will their secrets completely break them up this time around? Who are the men that have taken them captive, and what kind of game will they be playing?
The official trailer for the upcoming episode simply titled "Solos" reveals that these men have also taken a family of four hostage along with Jane and Oliver. And they seem to want to play a twisted game with Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and the rest of his team. How will they be able to save Jane and Oliver when doing so will be putting the hostage family's lives on the line? And what has motivated these men to specifically choose Jane and Oliver to use as pawns in their twisted plans? Was the family chosen for a specific purpose as well, or were they merely random victims?
The upcoming episode comes on the heels of another failed attempt by Team Weller to capture Shepherd (Michelle Hurd) and put an end to Sandstorm once and for all. Aside from their failure in the field, the individual members of the team seem to be falling apart internally as well.
In a phone interview with Collider, series creator Martin Gero revealed that Weller will have his hands full with his members especially after Reade's (Rob Brown) cocaine addiction becomes known to him. Patterson (Ashley Johnson) will also need a lot of help in recovering from the trauma of what she's been through, while Zapata's (Audrey Esparza) own personal secrets from the past will find a way to creep up on her again.
"So, Weller needs to play the strong leader, in holding everyone together and focusing on what's important," Gero shared.
"Blindspot" season 2 episode 17 airs on Wednesday, March 29 at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC.
