Blue Ivy $1 Million Nursery: Beyonce, Jay-Z Baby's 1st Birthday Gift 'Over The Top'? (VIDEO)
Hollywood power couple Beyonce and Jay-Z have reportedly spent $1 million for their daughter Blue Ivy's first birthday, and fans of the Grammy award winning singers have blasted the spending as "over the top."
Blue Ivy, who turns one on Jan. 7, may still be learning how to walk and talk but that has not stopped her wealthy parents from preparing to throw her a lavish first birthday party in a luxury nursery at Brooklyn's Barclays Center, Us magazine reported.
"Jay rents a luxurious basement suite for $1 million a year. It has an area for Blue filled with toys," a source told Us. "It's all glass with a champagne bar and TV screen. Jay lets friends use his digs when he's not there."
Beyonce and Jay-Z will reportedly host the million dollar bash and fans flocked to social networking site Twitter where an overwhelming majority blasted the lavish gift.
"Is B 4 real?! Why not just have a basic kid's party 4 Blue Ivy and donate that million to Hurricane Sandy victims? Waay 2 Over the top IMO," Jazmeen. P tweeted.
"GTFOHWTB!! Beyonce and Jay-Z are such show offs. Ok ur rich, we get it!! Blue Ivy would be just as happy with a Mcdonalds party smh So ridic," Kayla tweeted.
"Blue Ivy having a million dollar bday while people still starving in Africa and Hurricane victims have no heat. Shame on you Beyonce & Jay-Z," Donald Maine tweeted.
The couple, who has been married four years, has reportedly invited some of their closest friends and family to the lavish party. Hollywood couple Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin will allegedly be in attendance with their two children Apple and Moses as will Beyonce's Sister Solange and her son Julez.
Blue Ivy is certainly no stranger to lavish goods as it was previously claimed that Beyonce, 30, and Jay-Z, 42, spent $1.5 million on her nursery at their home shortly before she was born. In addition to the nursery the couple gifted their newborn with a $600,000 solid gold, handmade rocking horse from Japanese jeweler Ginza Tanaka; a $19,995 Fantasy Carriage crib from PoshTots; a $15,000 Swarovski crystal-studded highchair designed by Carla Monchen; and a $285 Jean Paul Gaultier silk bib to burp on, according to the New York Post.
