Bobbi Kristina Failed Intervention: Teen Turns to Drugs and Alcohol
New reports suggest that Bobbi Kristina, daughter of the late Whitney Houston, is still facing drug and alcohol problems. Family members insist that the 19-year-old needs to go to rehab.
By the time that Whitney Houston had turned 19 she was offered a worldwide recording contract by Arista Records, whose head was none other than Clive Davis. Now after becoming a lifelong friend to Houston, Davis has reached out to Bobbi Kristina in an effort to persuade her into going to rehab by offering her help with her own musical career.
Bobbi Kristina is an aspiring singer and family members had hoped that with the help of Davis, she might be tempted to change her ways.
"Everyone is worried sick about Krissy ... her aunt Pat got a number of her friends and family to come to Atlanta and have a serious talk with her about her sobriety," a source told Star. "There were lots of tears, but Bobbi Kristina didn't listen."
It appears that Bobbi Kristina was not even interested in furthering her career. Despite the music producers consistent efforts to push Bobbi Kristina in the right direction, she has failed to respond.
"Clive keeps telling Bobbi she needs to go to rehab, and that if she does, he'll help launch her music career," the insider continued. "He's doing everything he can."
The 19 year-old has been heartbroken since her mother's death. Radar Online reports that Bobbi Kristina continues to turn to alcohol, smoking marijuana and popping prescription pills.
During a recent Oprah interview, the aspiring singer talked about the mood swings that she has faced since her mother's death.
"It comes in waves: One moment I can be happy and laughing, but then it comes over me," she told Oprah. "Sometimes, it's so surreal. I still walk into the house like, 'Mom?' But I've accepted it."
