Bobby Brown Jailed After Los Angeles Arrest?
Bobby Brown could face jail time over an incident earlier in the week in which the former "Being Bobby Brown" star was arrested for driving under the influence.
Brown, 43, was pulled over on March 26 in Los Angeles for talking on his cell phone while driving. As he was pulled over, the singer failed a sobriety test with a blood alcohol level of .08 percent, according to the California Highway Patrol.
On Wednesday, Brown was formally charged with two DUI-related counts and for driving with a suspended license. If convicted on the three misdemeanor counts, the former husband of late singer Whitney Houston could spend up to six months behind bars.
"Everyone is innocent until proven guilty and Mr. Brown was not driving erratically. He was speaking on his cell phone. Mr. Brown has not been convicted of anything associated with this incident. Mr. Brown is taking this matter seriously, and an investigation is under way," attorney for the R&B star Tiffany Feder told reporters Wednesday before the singer and songwriter had been formally charged.
"The legal process shall run its course," she added.
Brown has been thrust back into the spotlight following the shocking and untimely death of his ex-wife and famed singer Whitney Houston.
Brown was on tour with his former band New Edition performing a show in Mississippi when the news of Houston's death went public.
"I would like to say I love you, Whitney. The hardest thing for me to do is come on this stage," an emotional Brown told the audience before walking off the stage.
"I am deeply saddened at the passing of my ex-wife Whitney Houston," Brown told People magazine following the announcement of the singer's death.
