Dr. Bobby Jones, host of BETs longest running #1 gospel show, Bobby Jones Gospel, will be hosting the 2nd Annual Urban IMPACT Summit (UIS) on June 25-27 at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in New England.
With a theme to Embrace, Educate and Empower the African-American culture, this years UIS will feature speakers, panels, workshops, artist showcases and more focused on timely issues affecting the music industry, the youth, the church, politics, their communities, urban issues, and money and finance, with an emphasis on bridging the worlds of hip hop and gospel music, according to a news release.
I have worked with both genres of music, says UIS co-organizer Attorney Walker of J.W. Consulting. I just want to give back and prepare the next generation of greater works.
This is my first time being a part of a conference that brings the gospel and hip-hop communities together, says hip-hop pioneer Afrika Bambaataa. The Urban IMPACT Summit is the first of its kind and Im looking forward to representing the old school. We have a lot to learn from each other.
