At least 17 people have reportedly died in cold-related deaths due to the "bomb cyclone."

As BBC News reported, three people died in Texas because of the cold; along with two people in a North Carolina pickup truck that ran off a snowy road and overturned in a creek, and a 13-year-old girl in New Jersey who died following suspected carbon monoxide poisoning in an apartment block.

The Associated Press noted of deaths in South Carolina, Philadelphia, and other parts of the United States.
