Bon Jovi Waives Fees for Concert in Spain
Jon Bon Jovi and his band mates waived payment for their upcoming concert performance in Madrid in light of the economic crisis that currently plagues Spain.
In waiving the fee, Bon Jovi will lower the cost of admission for their fans to attend the show. Tickets to Bon Jovi's June show in Madrid will now start at 18 euros, or $23, according to CNN.
Furthermore, going without a performance fee means that the band will not make any money off of the show. Fans now have access to tickets priced at a "precio amigos" rate, or the friends and family rate.
"They wanted everyone to come to the show, despite the recession," said a representative for Bon Jovi. "They are bringing the whole show and new production- no corners cut."
Bon Jovi, who has been hard at work performing live for over three decades, is currently touring on the European leg of the Because We Can Tour.
51-year-old Bon Jovi also recently addressed the disappointing behavior of fellow musician Justin Bieber.
The rock and roll legend pointed out that Bieber kept London fans waiting nearly two hours for a concert to begin at the O2 Arena last March. Bon Jovi warned that Bieber's behavior could alienate him from his fans, who identify themselves as "Beliebers."
"They run the risk of disrespecting their audience members who have worked hard to pay for their ticket, to give you the permission to take two or three hours of their lives-- or in that kid's case, 80 minutes of their lives," said the singer speaking to the London Evening Standard.
"Do it once, you can be forgiven," Bon Jovi added. "Do it enough times and shame on you. They won't have you back. Then it just becomes cliché."
