'Bones' and 'Sleepy Hollow' crossover plot news: Fans can expect a Halloween special
It was reported by FOX network during the Television Critics Association Press Tour that the series "Bones" and "Sleepy Hollow" will have a crossover scheduled around Halloween.
During the panel, the shows had FOX executives Gary Newman and Dana Walden share that the crossover will present the characters of Bones upon their discovery of a headless corpse. This will then lead them to Ichabod and Abbie.
The interview with TVLine showed that executive producer of Sleepy Hollow Clifton Campbell and executive producer of Bones Michael Peterson are excited about the upcoming episode. Campbell said, "When the idea came about to create this crossover event for fans, our writers' room was immediately energized. The creative freedom to merge these two worlds which, at face value, seem so different; but at their core have such striking similarities — mystery, intrigue, and methodical deduction, wrapped up in such strong character partnerships — was a challenge that we all welcomed, and we believe that fans of both series will be very satisfied by the result."

Fans were surprised at the news that the Headless Horseman will not be appearing for the third season of Sleepy Hollow, which was explained by Campbell; however, there are speculations that the statement was meant to mislead viewers to prepare for a surprise. Nevertheless, the show will not be the same without the renowned character.
Peterson believes that the two-hour event will be enjoyed by viewers and fans of both shows.
The news of the crossover brought the ideas that this was the network's way of rekindling desire for both shows since Sleepy Hollow and Bones are experiencing a decline in viewership. The special is expected to bring the excitment back into the season.
Campbell also explained that they understood the disconnection that the previous season brought, and even though they are facing problems, they are still proud of the series.
The crossover event for Bones and Sleepy Hollow will take place on Oct. 29.
