'Bones' Season 10 News: Booth to Experience Trauma Post Jail Time
"Bones" executive producer Stephen Nathan, along with David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel, were at Comic-Con San Diego to share some choice spoilers about the show's upcoming season.
The series will reportedly pick up four months after the season 9 finale, and in an interview with TVLine, Boreanaz revealed that his character, Booth, will feel the effects of the time he spent behind bars.
"We will see a different side of him," said the actor. He also mentioned that Booth will experience some trauma and will suffer from PTSD. "He's definitely in a state of confusion with his present state of mind, with his state in the bureau, with where he is with Brennan."
Meanwhile, Brennan won't be faring much better as she's saddled with a lot of problems stemming from Booth's incarceration.
"She's with her child, alone," said Deschanel to TVLine about her character. "It's very worrisome for her, because Booth is not safe in prison. He's a federal agent. He's put a lot of people in prison who don't like him."
The actress also revealed that Brennan will put the focus on her work when things become overwhelming, and apparently, one of her projects is to find and decorate a new home for them.
It can be recalled that in season 9, a shooting rampage happened at their home, and that incident landed Booth in prison. Brennan will take it upon herself to move out of their old home and furnish and design it so that nothing in it will traumatize Booth further.
"The idea of moving back in [to the old house], even if it was repaired, was not an option," said Nathan. "Brennan, knowing that somehow they would free Booth, found a house for them, one that would reflect Booth."
"Bones" returns for its 10th season on Sept. 25 on FOX.
