'Bones' Season 11B Spoilers: Booth and Brennan Deal With Aftermath of Bombing After the Show Returns

The aftereffects of what happened in the midseason finale will not only be felt by Hodgins (T.J. Thyne), who was paralyzed after the bomb went off in the last episode of "Bones." Reports say that Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (David Boreanaz) will also be affected by the turn of events in the end of the first half of the season, even if they managed to escape the bombing.

The second half of season 11 promises to be rough for the couple, since they will feel the burden of Hodgin's fate on their shoulders. During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the show's executive producer, Michael Peterson, said that Booth and Brennan will not take it easy. "They'll be affected by what happened to Hodgins and what's going to be going on with Angela as a result," Peterson said.

A short description from "Bones" showrunner, John Collier, was also posted on Spoilers Guide, and he teased what's going to happen to Booth and Brennan once the show picks up next year. He said, "Something from outside is going to happen and it's going to put them, as a couple, under duress. Last year, we did Booth's gambling [problem] reawakening and threatening their relationship — that was something that was happening between them. Now it's an external force that's going to threaten them."

Meanwhile, a new twist will be introduced in the upcoming episodes in the form of a new serial killer. Peterson described the new character as "somebody who's killed before — not to give too much away," and "somebody who killed during the time Booth and Brennan were not working." Fans are excited to see how Booth and Brennan will handle the new plot, especially knowing that they should have been there when that killer first committed a murder.

No official return date was confirmed for "Bones" season 11B, but it is expected to be around March or April next year.
