'Bones' Season 12 Episode 9 Spoilers: Booth Pays Tribute to Sweets

Booth (David Boreanaz) will remember his good friend Sweets (John Francis Daley) in the upcoming episode of "Bones."

Previously, executive producer Michael Peterson told TV Guide that the deceased FBI agent and psychologist would be featured in one of the upcoming episodes this installment. According to him, Sweets will be mentioned when Dr. Gordon Wyatt (guest star Stephen Fry) returns to the Jeffersonian to help out in Zack's (Eric Millegan) trial. Booth personally requested Wyatt to make the trip and take over Sweets' files on the case. There is no way Booth can trust Sweets' hard work to just anyone. Sweets was basically the one who took over Wyatt's job when the psychiatrist decided he wanted to become a chef many years ago.

"That's a big part of where Stephen Fry is going to come back as Gordon Wyatt. Sweets, in a lot of ways, took over for [Gordon] when he first started at the FBI. [Gordon] went off and became a chef, but for Booth, the only person he would trust with Sweets' notes is absolutely Gordon Wyatt [Fry]. That will be the introduction of his character to see what they can find out from Sweets' notes and his visits with Dr. Addy, to hopefully getting Zack released," the EP teased in the TV Guide interview.

Sweets' death in season 10 shocked many fans. He was killed on Glenn Durant's (JD Cullum) orders, and both Booth and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) were heartbroken when he died.

In the upcoming episode titled "The Steel in the Wheels," the synopsis (according to CarterMatt) reveals that Wyatt will be working closely with Hodgins (T.J. Thyne) and Cam (Tamara Taylor). They have to prove that Zack is not a killer but also a victim of the circumstances.

"Bones" season 12 episode 9 will air on Tuesday, March 7, at 9 p.m. EST on Fox.
