'Bones' Season 12 Episode 9: Booth Reunites With Psychiatrist Friend
Dr. Gordon Wyatt (guest star Stephen Fry) is going to return to the Jeffersonian in the upcoming episode of "Bones."
In the episode titled "The Steel in the Wheels," the synopsis (according to CarterMatt) reveals that Booth (David Boreanaz) will reunite with the psychiatrist-turned-chef. Wyatt will be back to assist Hodgins (T.J. Thyne) and Cam (Tamara Taylor) in the ongoing investigation regarding Zack's (Eric Millegan) case.
Wyatt is a good friend of Booth's and Brennan's (Emily Deschanel). He was part of the couple's love story, and it was he who made Booth see that he was in love with Brennan many years ago. There is no one that Booth trusts more than him.
Fry's return to the series has been teased by executive producer Michael Peterson. He previously told TV Guide that Wyatt has a huge role to fulfill in order for Zack to be cleared from all the charges against him. The EP also mentioned that in the episode, Sweets (John Francis Daley) would be mentioned. The psychologist was killed in season 10 under the orders of Glenn Durant (JD Cullum). According to Peterson, Wyatt would be taking over Sweets' job in Zack's trial. Booth personally requested his help to analyze Sweets' old records.
"That's a big part of where Stephen Fry is going to come back as Gordon Wyatt. Sweets, in a lot of ways, took over for [Gordon] when he first started at the FBI. [Gordon] went off and became a chef, but for Booth, the only person he would trust with Sweets' notes is absolutely Gordon Wyatt [Fry]. That will be the introduction of his character to see what they can find out from Sweets' notes and his visits with Dr. Addy, to hopefully getting Zack released," the EP teased in the TV Guide interview.
"Bones" season 12 episode 9 will air on Tuesday, March 7, at 9 p.m. EST on Fox.
