'Borderlands 3' News: Offline Content Will Still Be Offered in the Upcoming Installment of the Series
Latest 'Borderlands' game expected to already be in development
Fans know that "Borderlands 3" is coming. And while developers have yet to formally announce it, they have essentially confirmed that it is in the works right now.
Although developers have not detailed the game at length just yet, they have provided some interesting bits of information recently.
Spotted recently by GamingBolt, Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford responded to a fan musing about how great a "Borderlands" game could be if it featured raids and plenty of loot.
According to Pitchford, he also liked the idea of integrating raids and more loot and even the game being online.
Now, before fans grow concerned that these comments from Pitchford will mean that the latest "Borderlands" game will be another "always-online" game, the CEO did indicate that players who prefer to remain offline will have things to do as well.
Those little teases from Pitchford were quite interesting, though fans may understandably want more.
Unfortunately, it may still take some time before Pitchford and the other folks from Gearbox Software reveal more about "Borderlands 3."
During an earlier interview with IGN, Pitchford mentioned that though he would prefer not to set expectations for the sequel at this point in time, the knowledge that the studio is indeed working on the next "Borderlands" game should be enough for fans at the moment.
Also during that interview, Pitchford reiterated that the "Borderlands" series is "really important" to them, which is why they are doing all they can to make sure that they get it right.
In related news, Randy Varnell, who previously served as the creative director for "Battleborn," mentioned that he will have a significant role in the development of a "highly anticipated but unannounced game," which is expected to be the next entry in the "Borderlands" series.
More news about "Borderlands 3" should be made available soon.
