Bouncer Accused of Killing 3 Co-Workers After Being 'Punked' in Prank

Three men are dead and one suspect is in custody after a bouncer at a club in Florida got upset over a practical joke involving his firearm.

Andrew Joseph Lobban, 31, was charged with first-degree felony murder after shooting three of his co-workers dead after they filmed him being the subject of a prank.

All four men worked as bouncers at the Ocala Entertainment Complex in Florida and had recently visited a local gun range. The joke, which was recorded on mobile devices, involved Lobban's colleagues rigging his firearm so that it would misfire. The group then exploded in laughter after Lobban struggled to figure out the problem.

The group of men were outside a local watering hole on Saturday night when the topic of the prank came up again, but this time police said Lobban snapped over the continued jokes and opened fire, killing the three other men.

Lobban told investigators that he only intended to shoot Jose "Sway" Santiago, 25, of Ocala, the report said. The other victims -- Benjamin Larz Howard, 23, of Belleview, and Jerry Lamar Bynes Jr., 20, of Ocala -- he shot by accident, Lobban reportedly told police.

Lobban was upset that he had been "punked" in a videotaped incident that occurred within the past couple of weeks, OPD spokeswoman Sgt. Angy Scroble said in a statement.

"He just kept harping on that" during his interview with detectives, Scroble said of Lobban. "It really bothered him."

Each victim was shot once in the head, with Santiago and Bynes, whose nickname was Junior, sustaining fatal wounds to the back of the skull, the affidavit states.

According to police and an arrest affidavit, Lobban admitted to the shootings. He was being held without bail on Sunday.

Residents in the area were shocked to hear of the gruesome slayings and many had participated in a candlelight vigil on Sunday night.
