Casey Anthony may Face Lawsuit From Bounty Hunter

Sacramento Bounty Hunter, Leonard Padilla is ready to sue Casey Anthony and her attorney for misleading him during the search for her daughter Caylee.

According to Padilla, Anthony’s attorney Jose Baez, allowed him to fly out to Florida to aid in the search for Anthony’s missing daughter.

“Not only did he mislead us, they conned us and he did a good job,” said Padilla to KCRA news.

Padilla claims that both Anthony and her attorney knew Caylee was dead when he arrived in Florida.

“Jose Baez said during the trial’s opening statement and in his closing that they knew all along she was never lost,” said Padilla.

He also claims to have spent $50,000 dollars to bond out Anthony when she was first locked up, and provided private security for her when she was released.

According to Padilla, Anthony never claimed to know the whereabouts of her daughter Caylee at that time.

“She told me the babysitter stole the baby,” Padilla said. “They were both feeding us that line. And now we know it was never true. We lost a lot of money.”

Padilla plans to sue for $200,000 and said it may take him a few weeks to get his lawsuit together.

Johhny Griffin, a Sacramento criminal defense expert, stated that Padilla may stand a chance in winning this lawsuit, but he’ll need more evidence than just the words of Anthony’s defense attorney to do it.

Griffin says that Baez, Anthony’s attorney can claim that Padilla made more money becoming part of the Casey Anthony story than it cost him to be part of the search.

Padilla now joins a long list of many trying to recoup funds from Casey Anthony including the state of Florida who spent so much money investigating the case.
