Brad Pitt Celebrating 50th Birthday With Angelina and Kids in Australia
Brad Pitt will reportedly celebrate his birthday with family in Australia over the weekend after turning 50 on Wednesday.
The "Fury" actor did not do anything special to mark his milestone birthday as he is reportedly busy in London where he is filming the upcoming movie. He has made plans to visit his fiance Angelina Jolie, 38, and their six kids Down Under in coming days, where the family is expected to enjoy a low-key celebration.
"He's not doing anything for it and he said he doesn't want any surprises. He really doesn't want to talk about his birthday much," a source told Us magazine.
"Brad said he's going to celebrate his birthday this weekend in Australia," the insider revealed. "That's going to be the only thing he does."
Jolie is currently in Sydney directing her second feature film "Unbroken," which is set to debut in December 2014.
The film is based on the story of World War II aviator Louis Zamperini, who was stranded in the Pacific Ocean for 47 days after his plane crashed and later sent to a Japanese POW camp.
Pitt, who has visited his family a number of times in recent months, is reportedly working hard on his own World War II-era film.
"The film is going to be amazing," the source said.
In November reports claimed the Academy award-winning actress was considering spending in excess of $19 million on a heart-shaped Island in honor of Pitt's 50th birthday.
Jolie is believed to have paid a recent visit to Petra Island located in Lake Mahopac, New York, after discovering its two sprawling properties were designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, who is Pitt's favorite architect.
"As soon as Angelina heard the island was on the market she arranged a viewing. She was really impressed. The house is perfect for romantic getaways or as a family retreat," a source told the Daily Mirror U.K.
"It's very private and Angelina knows the fact the island is in the shape of a heart will mean so much to him," the source explained.
The 11-acre Island boasts panoramic views, a helicopter pad, the famous Massaro house and a cottage. It is located off the US coast, approximately 50 miles north of Manhattan.
