Brad Pitt, George Clooney in Prop 8 Play - A 'Bromance'?

Brad Pitt and George Clooney have teamed up away from the red carpet for the West Coast premiere of "8," which is Dustin Lance Black's Prop 8 play that covers the story of the trial to have the ban on gay marriage overturned.

Pitt will take on the roll of United States District Chief Judge Vaughn R. Walker, while Clooney will perform in the roll of attorney David Boies.

Clooney recently gave an interview to The Advocate where he praised his co-star in the controversial play. Talking about Pitt he said, "I can't speak highly enough about how hard he works at making the world better. I'm very proud to call him my friend."

Two of Hollywood's top actors have openly spoken about their respect for one another, with many celeb mags describing their relationship as a bromance. Clooney said in admiration of Pitt: "I do think we've set the bar very high… Not only do I enjoy him as a person and respect his talent, but I also love what he does in the world."

Clooney and Pitt were recently touted to be battling it out for the Best Actor Oscar at this year's recent Academy Awards, however, in the end both missed out to Frenchman Jean Dujardin.

However, Clooney received rave reviews for his performance as a back-up dad forced to pull his family together in the emotional drama "The Descendants."

Dujardin, 39, who starred in silent movie "The Artist," has been widely praised for his performance and eventually took home the Oscar. Even though he has been described as a Hollywood newcomer, he is a household name in France, and has already won a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild award.

In stark contrast to Dujardin, Clooney is a seasoned Hollywood face. He has already won an Oscar in 2005 for his supporting role in "Syriana," and he won a Golden Globe just last month. Pitt, however, has never won an Oscar.
