Brad Pitt, Selena Gomez Meeting: 'I Hid,' Starstruck Singer Tells Ellen

Brad Pitt has left Selena Gomez starstruck during their recent meeting at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, according to the young singer.

Gomez, who was appearing on the Ellen DeGeneres show this week, told how she was completely stunned by Pitt's presence recently.

The singer explained that she met the actor backstage at the MTV Movie Awards at the weekend: "I was in my dressing room, and I had just finished performing. And they knocked on my door, and they said Brad Pitt would like to come in. And I was like, 'Well, he can come in!'"

She added, "I was trying to play it cool and be really nice … As soon as he walked out I ran and I hide under the craft service table for like two minutes because I couldn't believe it was happening."

Pitt was apparently hoping to meet Gomez at the awards show to take a photo with her for his children, who are reportedly fans of the "Wizards of Waverly Place" actress.

Gomez came to prominence in 2007 as a starring cast member in the television series Wizards of Waverly Place. She signed to Hollywood Records the following year, and became the founder and lead singer of the pop band Selena Gomez & the Scene.

Their studio albums Kiss & Tell in 2009, A Year Without Rain in 2010, and When the Sun Goes Down in 2011 were certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and have spawned Platinum-certified singles "Naturally", "Who Says", and "Love You like a Love Song."

After the release of television films and their accompanying soundtracks, Gomez made her theatrical film debut in Ramona and Beezus in 2010 and starred in Monte Carlo in 2011.

More recently Selena Gomez has starred in Spring Breakers. Her debut solo album is tentatively scheduled to be released in summer 2013, and is preceded by its lead single "Come & Get It."
