Brady Bunch Reunion Celebrating 40 Years Since Kings Island Amusement Park
A Brady Bunch reunion occurred over the weekend when three of the former family's kids met together at King's Island amusement park in Ohio.
Barry Williams (Greg), Christopher Knight (Peter) and Susan Olsen (Cindy) were in attendance to celebrate the 40th anniversary of filming an episode "The Cincinnati Kids" at the park. They also answered questions, shared stories and reminisced about the show.
There were four separate shows for the actors to make an appearance at, and each was filled to capacity in the 844-seat venue, reported Indystar.com.
"I think everybody, at some point in their life, wanted to be a Brady," a local newspaper quoted a person in attendance. "Their whole family seemed so perfect. They were so nice. I think it resonates with the child in all of us to want to be Brady."
Williams was the host of the night as he introduced his co-stars to crowd and came out to his own version of Eminem's "The Real Slim Shady" with "I'm Greg Brady."
"It feels great to be back. It doesn't feel like it was that far away," said Williams to Fox19. "The memories are still fresh."
Kings Island officials say they are considering having the cast back for a 45th reunion in 2018 after the major success of this first time.
"The Brady Bunch" first aired in 1969 before wrapping up its run with 117 episodes in 1974. The show has remained in syndication since then.
The story focuses on a widowed father, Mike (Robert Reed), and his three sons Greg, Peter, and Bobby (Mike Lookinland) and a divorced mother, Carol (Florence Henderson) with her three daughters: Marcia (Maureen McCormick), Jan (Eve Plumb), and Cindy.
The family learns to adjust as a new mixed family, and the children learn life lessons about growing up.
