Brady Quinn Apologizes to Tim Tebow Over Comments

Denver Broncos back-up quarterback Brady Quinn has come out and apologized for comments he made in a recent interview with GQ magazine regarding his teammate Tim Tebow.

The article titled, The Year of Magical Stinking: An Oral History of Tebow Time, also included several other Broncos players.

Quinn explains in the interview that he felt he should have been the starting quarterback after Kyle Orton went down, but felt that the fans had a big influence on who went in the game. Quinn also attributed the teams successful run during the mid-way point of the season to luck.

"Early in the season, there was a game when Kyle got hurt and the coaches were calling for me to go in, but Kyle got up and finished the game out. So I was the second-string guy," Quinn said.

"Then, a few weeks later, they decided to put Tim in. I felt like the fans had a lot to do with that. Just 'cause they were chanting his name. There was a big calling for him…No, I didn't have any billboards. That would have been nice."

When Quinn was asked about the team's performance under Tebow he replied: "We've had a lot of, I guess, luck, to put it simply."

There was a fast and negative reaction to the comments Quinn made and he quickly took to Twitter and Facebook to clarify his comments. Quinn also released a public apology to anyone he may have offended.

"I regret the comments as they appeared in the article and I apologize if the comments that were in the article upset anyone," Quinn said.

Quinn posted comments on his Twitter account to rectify the situation.

"The comments attributed to me in a recent magazine article are in NO WAY reflective of my opinion of Tim and the Broncos…Tim deserves a lot of credit for our success and I'm happy for him and what he accomplished. Most importantly, he is a great teammate."
