To recall, Brazil had a couple of hard matches against Iraq and South Africa during the stage match for Group A. Both outings saw Brazil without goals and wrapped up into draws. However, the powerhouse did not yield and unleashed an offense by claiming a 4-0 victory over Denmark in the third round.

In comparison, Honduras also experienced tough competition in Group D. The only deciding factor for the squad was striker Albert Elis who made the goal during the South Korea matchup. Honduras survived into the semifinals by forcing the powerhouse Argentina into a 1-1 draw during the third round.

Other important game details

Now to plot how the starting eleven rosters will look like for both teams, the Brazilian squad will most likely start with Weverton to defend the goal. Then, they will deploy Marquinhos, Rodrigo Caio, Zeca, and Douglas Santos as defenders. Feline Anderson, Thiago Maia and Renato Augusto will be the midfields. As for the forward array, it will most likely look with Neymar, Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Barbosa.

Honduras will face the challenge with Luis Lopez as goalkeeper while Harold Fonseca will be the reserve this time around. Defenders will include Brayan Garcia, Jonathan Paz, Marcelo Pereira and Allans Vargas. Bryan Acosta, Bryan Ramirez and Allan Banegas are going to be in the midfield. Completing the list are Albert Elis, Antony Lozano and Romell Quioto acting as forwards.

There are several debates when it comes to predicting the outcome of this match. Although the array of stars above dictate that Brazil has the upper hand owing to international exposure and experience, it is not a guarantee that the other teams would just let it slide. Still, fans can expect a slow 30-minute start up for Brazil to gain momentum and close the gap of 2-1.

For fans who want to catch this match, Brazil vs. Honduras will kickoff at Maracana Stadium and televised at NBC Sports Network on August 18 at 9:00 a.m. Live streaming is also available at NBCOlympics.com
