Brian 'Head' Welch Pursues God-Inspired Projects

Brian "Head" Welch, co-founder and former guitarist of nu-metal band Korn, will soon release his first book, which talks about his conversion to Christianity and split from the band.

"Save Me From Myself: How I Found God, Quit Korn, Kicked Speed, And Live to Tell the Tale" is due for a July release. The former Korn member is also planning a 2007 release for his debut solo album "It's Time to See Religion Die," and a documentary film based on his life called "Washed by Blood."

Welch, 36, left the band in February 2005 after announcing he had found religion and was battling drug addiction. In addition to the upcoming book, album, and documentary, Welch has worked on a project called "Head Home," which is designed to "help kids get off the streets".

"Throughout all of my life I have always had a heart for people that are hurting, especially those that have no one to help them. My eyes have been opened to children on the street and I feel like for me that is who I want and need to help," says Welch.

Head has linked up with new manager Steve Delaportas of Fortitude Films to develop the project. Delaportas has provided funding and assistance to successfully help orphans in India with the company Good News India.

Delaportas echoed Welch's sentiments: "I am so excited to be helping Head in his mission to assist those in need world wide! Head has brought so much to the table with new ideas and solutions to help in the fight to help with the next generation. These children are wanting for little and Head is wanting to give so much! I stand in amazement."

In 2005, Welch and Delaportas traveled to Bombay, Kolkata, Balasore, and Kurseong.
