Briana DeJesus' Ex Arrested for Third Time, Being Held Without Bail
"Teen Mom 3" star Briana DeJesus' baby's father, Devoin Austin II was arrested on September 24 for a probation violation and is being held without bail in the Osceola County Florida Jail, a spokesperson confirmed. This makes Austin's third arrest this year, and there's no telling how the judge may sentence him for the violation.
Austin's ordeal started on March 21 with an arrest for possession of marijuana; he pleaded guilty to that charge and received a sentence of one year of county-supervised probation and one day in jail. Then, on Labor Day weekend, he was arrested again and charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, burglary and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
He was held on $5,000 bond and released. Police have not said what led to Austin's arrest this last time, but given that it is his third arrest, he could end up doing serious time behind bars. Meanwhile, DeJesus has taken the high road and Tweeted about her hopes for Austin.
"Gonna send Devoin a picture of Nova… hope he'll sit there for how ever long he's doing time for and reevaluate his life w/ that photo!" she posted online.
DeJesus has apparently wanted nothing to do with the father of her child. When daughter Nova was born, she chose not to have Austin's name listed on the birth certificate, given that he was playing basketball with friends immediately after Nova's birth. He has also reportedly harassed DeJesus online by posting crude comments about her on his Twitter account.
Viewers of "Teen Mom 3" have seen a breakdown in their relationship and DeJesus file for an order of protection against Austin, which was denied by a judge. She has gone on to raise Nova on her own, but with the help of her sister and mother. However, the "Teen Mom" star has faced criticism for her decision to parent Nova on her own.
"Pls stop telling me I'm selfish for not letting Devoin see Nova… isn't he in jail anyways… how in the world can he father her from there?" DeJesus tweeted recently.
This time there's no telling how long Austin may be behind bars.
