Bristol Palin Defends 'Devilish' Sarah Palin in Bar Fight With Gay Man
Bristol Palin was drawn into in a verbal bar fight after a patron accused her mother, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, of being "the devil." During the confrontation, Bristol asked the man, who is gay, if his anger toward her mother stemmed from his sexuality.
Bristol, who had just fallen off a mechanical bull at a West Hollywood bar, was taunted by a man who yelled out, "Did you ride Levi like that?" He added, "Your mother's a whore!"
The Alaska native, who was at the bar with a film crew from her reality show, promptly marched over to the man to confront him.
The man, who said he was 47, did not back down from Bristol, who turns 21 next month. After Bristol asked him why he has a problem with her mother, the man answered: "She’s the devil."
"What did she do wrong?" Bristol inquired.
"She lives. She breathes," the man, who appeared to be intoxicated, said.
Bristol then asked, "Do you want her dead?"
"You know what," the man said. "If there was a hell, and I don't believe there is one, she would be there."
After some back-and-forth, Bristol asked the man if his anger stemmed from his sexuality.
"Is this because you're a homosexual?" she asked.
"Pretty much," the man said. "And why did you say I’m a homosexual?"
"Because I can tell you are," Bristol said. Nodding towards another man sitting at the bar, she added, "That's your boyfriend and that's why you don't like my mom."
The man denied Bristol's conjecture, but continued his verbal attack on Sarah Palin.
Bristol then asked him to name one particular reason he thought her mother was a "whore." However, the man would not give specifics.
After Bristol tried walking away with her entourage, the man, apparently intoxicated, screamed at her again, calling her "white trash from Wasilla" and other expletives.
Bristol attempted to lunge at the man, but several people stood in her way and she eventually walked out of the bar (the video can be seen here, but contains it strong language).
The comments regarding Palin come on the heels of The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin, an unauthorized biography about the former Alaska governor by Joe McGinnis.
McGinnis claims Palin had a one-night stand with basketball star Glen Rice while in college, while she was in a relationship with future husband Todd Palin.
The book also claims Palin had a six-month affair with Brad Hanson, one of husband Todd's business partners. Todd allegedly ended business dealings after finding out about the affair.
Rumors about a possible divorce between the Palins have been circulating this week after the National Enquirer published a story claiming Todd Palin was "fed up" and was filing for divorce.
