Bristol Palin Returns to TV (VIDEO)

The Palin family is back in the spotlight again, as Bristol Palin begins filming her new series "Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp!" for Lifetime.

Lifetime has ordered 10 half-hour episodes of the new series, which will document Bristol's return to Alaskan life with son Tripp. Sarah and Todd Palin are expected to be a part of the series, which will be interesting considering the new movies being released about Sarah's failed campaign. Will Bristol's series upstage her mother's return to TV?

"From the first moment she was thrust into the public eye, Bristol and her son have been the subjects of a huge amount of curiosity and misunderstanding. This show will reveal the real Bristol Palin and her journey as a daughter, a mother, and a young woman making her way in the world," said the Lifetime press release.

The two Palin women have seemingly won over American audiences, with Sarah continuing on as a Fox News commentator and Bristol making several guest appearances on TV. Bristol has been on "The Secret Life of the American Teenager," ABC Family's hit series and "Dancing With the Stars."

Watch her talk about her "Dancing" experience here:

Levi Johnston, Tripp's father, will not be, a part of the new series. A source told Radar Online, "Bristol asked Levi to be on the show, but he said no way. Levi didn't want to be a part of her reality show at all." It's an interesting twist given that Johnston has previously had no problem speaking about his relationship with the Palin family and even planning his own reality TV show.

There is a lot of mixed reaction to Bristol's series already, which may provide a higher rating as Lifetime keeps people wondering when the show will debut. Sarah's show "Sarah Palin's Alaska" drew in over 5 million viewers, the highest for TLC. Viewership dropped quickly, though, and the series was not renewed for a second season.
