British Open 2012 Dates, Schedule: Tiger Woods, Justin Rose and Sergio Garcia Grouped Together

Tiger Woods has been paired with Justin Rose and Sergio Garcia for the first two rounds of the British Open.

The draw means Woods will be with familiar faces in his group for the first two rounds; it will be the fourth time in the last nine Opens that Woods has played alongside Rose.

Woods and Rose were also paired together in the same group at Muirfield in 2002, Carnoustie in 2007 and St. Andrews in 2010.

Elsewhere the current World Number 1, Luke Donald, who is attempting to claim his first major, has been drawn with Phil Mickelson and Geoff Ogilvy.

Bubba Watson will swing off alongside Lee Westwood and Toshinori Fujimoto.

However, as it stands the field is 157 players, which is in fact one over the limit. Therefore, two players would have to withdraw if first alternate, Ben Crane, is to get a place in the British Open.

Tiger Woods will be hoping to maintain his form over the entire Open, having fallen short with inconsistent play in recent tournaments. Last month Tiger Woods said the media was "annoying" to him as he went through his slump in form over recent years.

Woods is finally coming out of his long term lull and is winning again on the PGA Tour. His new success has allowed him to reflect on a troubled time in his life, and he has now come out to admit how difficult the media made his life during that period.

Woods didn't manage to win a tournament from the November 2009 Australian Masters, through to the December 2011 Chevron World Challenge; an astonishing dry spell of two years.

Woods has now come out and said recently, "I have to deal with it in every single press conference. I have to answer it in post-round interviews—whether it's with you guys or in a live shot [on TV]. You do that for a couple of years, sometimes you guys can be a little annoying."

He was celebrating winning his third PGA Tour event this season.

The British Open 2012 commences on Thursday July 19, and concludes Sunday July 22, 2012.
