Britney Spears, David Lucado Split Rumors False: 'They're Still a Couple'
Britney Spears and David Lucado are reportedly still together, despite recent split rumors.
On Wednesday, reports claimed Spears, 32, and Virginia native Lucado had ended their relationship, however, insiders maintain this is false. The couple began dating in March 2013, and they are said to be happy and stronger than ever.
"It's not true, he's just away at the moment, and they're still a couple," a source told Daily Mail U.K.
Spears began dating Lucado just two months after calling off her engagement to her agent Jason Trawick. The pop singer previously gushed about her new found love.
"I'm in love. I like the fact that [Lucado is] very stubborn and he's stuck in his ways," she told "Entertainment Tonight."
"He's just a simple man. I adore him," she continued. "He's really funny and he's really passionate. I love the fact that anything he's involved in he's passionate about and it's contagious."
The pair reportedly met through mutual friends and Spears' father immediately ran a background check on him.
"My dad's a little crazy like that," Spears said.
The "Perfume" singer appeared to be in good spirits while grocery shopping in Calabasas, Calif., earlier this week. Spears wore a blue tank top paired with black shorts and wedges and she waved to cameras upon exiting the store.
"Britney and David split a while ago. Britney's been focusing on her boys after the break up," a source told X17Online.com.
In January the singer was photographed wearing a gold ring on her wedding finger, which sparked engagement rumors, however, these reports were never publicly addressed.
Spears shares two sons Sean Preston, 8, and Jayden James, 7, with her ex-husband Kevin Federline. She recently shared a photo of them on social networking site Instagram.
"What's up summer!!! Where are my sunglasses when I need them? Lol," Spears captioned alongside the family photo.
