Britney Spears' Hair Dyed Dark, Fans React

Britney Spears has debuted a new look following Sunday night's Academy Awards in a change that earned praise from fans.

The pop star attended Elton John's famous Oscars party in Los Angeles wearing a sparkling black dress and her new, dark hair color.

Usually blonde, Spears changed her locks to a glossy chocolate brown as she hit the red carpet for the Elton John AIDS foundation Oscars party.

On Twitter, Spears' fans sounded off about the new brunette look.

"Oh wow, Britney Spears looked stunning last night," wrote Emma. "Brown hair suits her so much!"

Jada added, "Best shes looked in awhile."

The new hair was outshined only by Spears' Michael Cinco Couture floor-length gown, which featured a plunging neckline.

Also, the "Hold It Against Me" singer paired the gown with minimal jewelry, opting for just earrings, a ring, and a cuff bracelet.

Elton John's star-studded annual Oscar's bash also saw Heidi Klum, Miley Cyrus, and Chris Brown.

The Oscars party is not the first time fans have seen Spears with darker hair. The pop star debuted two very different looks in her advertisements for the two-in-one fragrance Fantasy Twist.

Spears, 31, has made several other changes in her life recently. The mother of two split from fiancé Jason Trawick and has been spotted out with a potential new love interest field researcher David Lucado.

Furthermore, Spears has announced that she would not be returning to the "X-Factor" in order to focus more on her own music.

"I've made the very difficult decision not to return for another season," the singer told Entertainment Weekly. "I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens but it's time for me to get back in the studio. Watching them all do their thing up on that stage every week made me miss performing so much! I can't wait to get back out there and do what I love most."

In addition to possibly heading back to the studio, reports earlier this year indicated that Spears was in "serious talks" about moving to Vegas and having a show much similar to that of Celine Dion, according to TMZ.

Spears is also busy raising two sons, Sean and Jayden, from her first marriage to backup dancer Kevin Federline.
