Brooke Mueller Faces Two Felonies Stemming From Drug Possession
Brooke Mueller now faces charges stemming from a December incident where reports state she assaulted a woman and was found with cocaine.
Charlie Sheen's ex-wife was charged with cocaine possession and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, which are both felonies.
She was charged with misdemeanor third-degree assault resulting from her arrest at an Aspen night club.
Pitkin County District Attorney, Arnold Mordkin, filed the charges which were based on the initial report by local police. Authorities alleged the 34-year-old Mueller attacked a woman at the Belly Up nightclub.
The District Attorney's office charged her with felony possession with intent to distribute because Brooke allegedly had more than four grams of cocaine on her. If convicted, she could face six years in the slammer.
However, in order to cover all of their bases prosecutors also charged The World According to Paris star with the second felony count of possession of four grams or less, which carries a lighter sentence of 18 months in jail.
Mueller remains out on $11,000 bail. Mueller's publicist told E! News that earlier this week she had returned to Los Angeles after completing an intensive three-month drug and alcohol treatment program.
She's now entered into an "aggressive outpatient program" in which she has a sober companion who will help her stay clean, according to her publicist.
"Brooke is feeling better than ever before, and is committed to continuing treatment for as long as necessary to maintain her total and complete sobriety," Steve Honig, a spokesperson, said.
Mueller is due back in an Aspen courtroom on March 5.
The entire situation began on Dec. 12 at about 11:30 p.m., Aspen Police officers were conducting a routine walk-through at the Belly Up nightclub on Galena Street when, according police, a woman approached officers to report an assault in which Mueller was the aggressor.
