'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Season 5 News, Air Date: First Photos Preview Jake and Rosa in Prison

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 5 will see Jake (Andy Samberg) and Rosa (Stephanie Beatriz) adjusting to life in prison.

As fans may remember, the season 4 finale saw Jake and Rosa being found guilty of bank robbery. Viewers know that the two were framed, but that will not stop them from being put behind bars.

Now, Entertainment Weekly has published the first look photos of season 5.

Jake can be seen in a prison uniform and sporting a beard. One photo finds him with his cellmate Caleb (Tim Meadows), who happens to be a cannibal.

"Caleb is a cannibal who doesn't feel like that defines him," executive producer Dan Goor said. "He would rather be defined by his passion, which is woodworking."

Another photo sees Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio) and Amy (Melissa Fumero) paying Jake a visit. Being in prison is definitely something new for Jake. He has worked undercover many times before, but actually being considered a criminal is another thing.

"It's Jake at his most vulnerable and having to live off of his wits," Goor teased.

One of Jake's smart plans is to get a protector, which is where Romero (Lou Diamond Phillips) comes in. "Jake has to figure out how to get in his good graces," Samberg said.

Meanwhile, Rosa will have no problem being in a women's prison. Fans know Rosa as a tough, no-nonsense cop, so it does not come as a surprise that she likes being alone. One photo finds Captain Holt (Andre Braugher) and Terry (Terry Crews) visiting her and trying to stay positive.

Other than that, the photos also showed Boyle with a funny new hair color. It was also revealed that the team will do their best to clear Jake and Rosa's names.

Goor previously teased that the upcoming fifth season of the FOX comedy series will show more of Scully (Joel McKinnon Miller) and Hitchcock's (Dirk Blocker) cop lives in the roaring '80s. He also previewed "the best Halloween" episode to date.

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 5 will premiere on Sept. 26 at 9:30 p.m. EDT on FOX.
