'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Season 5 Spoilers: Jake Is Eager to Get Back in the Field; Rosa Suspects Pimento Is Cheating
The upcoming episode of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 5 will see Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) and Rosa Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz) back at the precinct.
The synopsis for the next episode, titled "Kicks," states that Jake will be assigned to temporary desk duty. Knowing Jake, he will not like being stuck to his desk doing paperwork all day long. After spending some time in prison, Jake will be itching to get out of the precinct and actually solve a case, but he will have to go through Holt (Andre Braugher) to do it. Holt will need to give Jake a passing grade on an official evaluation before he can get back into the field.
Meanwhile, Rosa will grow worried that Pimento (Jason Mantzoukas) has been unfaithful to her, so she will seek the help of Terry (Terry Crews) and Amy (Melissa Fumero).
Jake and Rosa are undoubtedly happy to be back on the force after being sent to prison for a crime they did not commit. It can be recalled that Hawkins (Gina Gershon) framed them in the season 4 finale. The two cops spent the first two episodes of season 5 behind bars. And while Rosa was comfortable with solitary confinement, Jake had a harder time adjusting.
While in prison, Jake tried to get on tough guy Romero's (Lou Diamond Phillips) good side, but it proved to be more difficult than he had anticipated. To make matters more complicated, the warden convinced Jake to be a snitch and spy on Romero's drug operation within the prison.
With the help of his cannibal cellmate Caleb (Tim Meadows), Jake was able to figure out how Romero was smuggling in the drugs. But after accidentally taking some, Romero concluded that Jake was on his side and trusted him with his secret. Armed with information from Jake, the warden put a stop to Romero's operation. Being one of only two guys who know about the drugs, Jake was blamed by Romero. Thankfully, the squad proved Hawkins was behind the whole thing just in time. However, it came with a price.
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 5 airs Tuesdays, at 9:30 p.m. EDT on FOX.
