Bruce Willis Sobriety Under Control
Bruce Willis has admitted his former weakness for alcohol as well as his sentiments toward the Oscars during an interview this week.
The seasoned actor has made a recent comeback with several films including "Looper" and this week's "A Good Day to Die Hard." His prolific career did not come without strife though, and Willis explained his new outlook on alcohol.
"I had been sober," said Willis during an interview with GQ. "But once I realized that I wasn't gonna run myself off the pier of life with alcohol, drinking vodka out of the bottle every day… I have wine now, mostly when I eat."

Just as the 57-year-old actor has mellowed, his career has also improved. Despite having appeared in over 60 films including the critically acclaimed "Pulp Fiction," Willis has never been nominated for an Oscar.
The "Armageddon" star said the lack of nominations does not bother him "too much."
"It just always has seemed whimsical to me, to think about it," explained Willis. "You don't get an Oscar for comedy, and you don't get it for shooting people. You get it for novelty, for being fascinating to watch in some character role. But the 'Die Hard' and 'Dirty Harry' are all fraught with the same thing that every story is fraught with."
Moreover, the actor's maturity was reflected again while he discussed his family. Willis and his wife Emma share daughter Mabel, who is 10-months-old, in addition to the actor's three daughters with ex-wife Demi Moore.
"The middle years to now makes me start to think that there should come a time when I should not work so much," said the actor while speaking to GQ.
Willis noted that "fatherhoods' not a bad gig."
The Hollywood star is not the only celebrity to have opened up about alcohol abuse recently. Country music star Tim McGraw revealed that he shed 40 pounds and improved his marriage, according to People magazine.
"I drank a lot from my point of view and I needed to stop," the 45-year-old singer admitted. "I felt quitting was something I needed to do. I didn't feel I had any moral high ground with my kids in the long run."
McGraw married another country music great Faith Hill in 1996. The couple shares three daughters; Gracie Katherine, 15, Maggie Elizabeth, 14, and Audrey Caroline, 11.
Five years ago, McGraw began working out instead of consuming alcohol, and has been hooked ever since.
"Working out is a great way to go out on stage," McGraw told People. "When I hit the stage, my adrenaline is going and I'm ready."
