Buffalo Bills Roster Rumors: Zach Brown Agrees to One-Year Deal

Free agency is over for linebacker Zach Brown after his agent confirmed earlier rumors that he signed with the Buffalo Bills for a one-year deal. The move was anticipated after he visited the team on Monday and multiple reports said that the meeting was quick and both parties verbally agreeing to terms.

The second round draft pick of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans played for the team until last season, where he started in 27 games. His stint in Tennessee was marred by injuries though, especially in 2014 when he only managed to play a single game after suffering a torn pectoral. Though he was able to make a successful return last season, he only started in five games, producing 77 tackles and two interceptions in the process, according to Pro Football Talk.

Brown first hinted about coming up with an agreement with the Bills after he tweeted to the "Bills Mafia" on the same day of his visit. The deal was then confirmed by his player agent, Carl Carey via The Associated Press.
The 26-year old could have extended his four-season stint with the Titans, but the team eventually parted ways with him due to a diminished role last season. But it really was because he didn't see enough action a season prior to the last because of that pectoral injury. He currently owns pretty decent numbers of 261 tackles, six interceptions, and 10 sacks in his career so far.

With the Bills, he gets that much needed chance to prove himself and show that he still can be good enough for a starting position, especially with Nigel Bradham and Mario Williams already out of the picture in Buffalo. He is expected to compete with other linebackers in the roster, including Preston Brown, Manny Lawson, A.J. Tarpley, and Tony Steward.
