'Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition' Latest News: Story Trailer Released; Gameplay Video Features Duke Nukem

Gearbox Publishing and People Can Fly have officially released the story trailer for "Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition," which is the updated version of the 2011 shooter game "Bulletstorm."

The trailer of the upcoming video game focuses on its storyline. In "Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition," gamers play the character of Grayson Hunt, an exiled member of an elite assassin group called "Dead Echo." Hunt and his team are sent to another planet called Stygia – a world heavily populated by mutated creatures – to eliminate a target.

However, all hell breaks loose for his team, and one of his team members had to be augmented with electronic components in order to survive. A mysterious female soldier also appears in the trailer, hinting a possible tie to the video game's entire story.

Via IGN, a nine-minute gameplay video featuring iconic first-person shooter game character Duke Nukem has also been released.

Although the story from the original "Bulletstorm" game remains intact, the addition of Duke Nukem as a game character is a first for the video game franchise. Duke Nukem will serve as a stand-in for the game's original protagonist, but players will only get to unlock his character after pre-ordering the forthcoming video game.

"Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition" was leaked last year during E3 2016 as a remastered project. Gearbox and People Can Fly subsequently provided the press with screenshots of the remastered version of the game to show how greatly they have improved its visuals on existing gaming platforms.

The remastered game was officially announced later on at The Game Awards in December 2016. During this event, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford also confirmed that Duke Nukem will be included as downloadable content.

Pitchford also confirmed that gamers who already own the original "Bulletstorm" video game but want to get the "Full Clip Edition" will have to buy the upcoming remastered version. A free upgrade path would not be possible due to conflicting rights issues which arose during the development of the "Full Clip Edition."

"Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition" is scheduled to launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on April 17.
