Calif. Ex-Stripper Shares Gospel to Dancers After Enduring Years of Rape, Sexual Abuse
Jaime Hindman is a former stripper who reaches out to women in the sex industry as part of her mission work to bring them the hope that she wishes she would have found while she was oftentimes raped and sexually assaulted during her years as an exotic dancer.
Hindman's Divine Ministry is composed of women that hail from her same background of abuse and brokenness and who have made a life changing decision to commit their lives to God. With their help, Hindman visits strip clubs throughout Orange County, Calif., to spread the Gospel through a simple gesture of giving strippers gift bags filled with makeup and candy along with Christian tracts.
"Who is going to go back and love these girls? Someone's gotta do it," said Hindman in a recent interview with ABC News.

Her work involves entering strip clubs to drop off the bags and talk to the women before their shifts begin. Most times, club bouncers and managers let her and her ministry group inside once she tells them her intentions. While there, Hindman typically approaches the dancers who are oftentimes receptive to her message with some opening up about their personal lives to her because they find Hindman relatable.
During a recent visit to a club in Anaheim, Hindman said she came across a woman who confided in her that she was contemplating leaving the industry after 10 years as a stripper.
"She just told us a horrific story about how a guy basically ejaculated over her, and she basically had to pour alcohol over her body to feel clean again," said Hindman. "She's just trying to get out, but she has a family to support."
Hindman's non-judgmental approach in spreading the Gospel has led her to encounter other women with similar stories. However, no story surprises her since she has her own that began when she took up stripping at age 19 as her way of seeking love and approval following the divorce of her parents.
"My life began to spiral out of control once I entered this very dark world. I was raped and sexually assaulted multiple times. I chose abusive boyfriends. All the money I made in that industry was spent on either drugs to survive or given away because I felt the money was dirty and I didn't deserve it," says Hindman on her website, Divineoc.com.
During her time as a dancer, Hindman became used to sexual abuse she received from patrons and eventually her tolerance turned into hatred toward men.
Regardless of the reasons why many women end up stripping, Hindman says none of them genuinely enjoy their work because "100 percent" of strippers are sexually assaulted or raped on the job.
After enduring much abuse and exhausting her resources to find hope, Hindman finally found God and left the industry.
"I was a girl that was broken, lost, neglected and abused. At one point in my darkest period I thought the only way to feel better was to end my life. Instead, God had a different idea. He has taken this wounded girl, who believed she was never capable of being loved, and has restored me. He continues to fill me with His unconditional love and an endless amount of hope," said Hindman.
Now, she says she uses her painful experience to reach out to women caught up in an industry that feeds them false hope. She also urges strippers to find God becasue if He saved her, she says He can save anyone.
"As He heals all of the pain and despair I have experienced, He teaches me that all the pain in my life will never be wasted," said Hindman.
